A Bike Path Cleanup along the Mississippi River took place on May 31, 2008. The clean up was hosted by Keep Rock Island Beautiful, May 31 from 8-12 noon. All volunteers need to meet at the registration table on 20th Street and 1st Ave in Rock Island. Volunteers cleaned up the scenic bike path which runs along the river in Rock Island.

Rock Island Downtown Cleanup took place on May 3, 2008. Keep Rock Island Beautiful partnered with The District in collecting litter to enhance the appearance of our downtown. Keep Rock Island Beautiful plans and implements programs of education and awareness of litter control and recycling activities while promoting pride in Rock Island. We support and encourage citizens, businesses and organizations to share responsibility for keeping a healthy, safe and beautiful city.
